My love affair with sound

David Byrne discusses his views on different types of music and how they work. Byrne expresses that space, platform, and software is what makes the music or art. Percussive music carries well outdoors. “Folk song style and culture” the instruments people use for this style of music were derived from easily available local materials, and it was convenience that determined the nature of music. This form of music fits the place where it heard sonically and structurally. Western music in the middle Ages were performed in these stone-walled Gothic cathedrals. Western medieval music was harmonically simple because composers hadn't yet evolved the use of complex harmonies. Jazz music was a type of popular music and was played in bars, funerals, joints and whorehouses where dancing was going on. Jazz solos was a pragmatic way of slowing a problem that had emerged. Jazz have evolved into a kind of classical music. Classical music did not only change venues but also the behavior of the audiences as well. Audiences were expected to be quiet. With this music composers know that every detail would be heard. Quiet pieces could also be written. Recorded music change the nature of places where music was heard. People began listening to music either on radio or phonographs.

Self-Assesment

My two greatest strengths are:
1.  Politeness because I believe in being cool and solving the matter in a polite way because politeness makes the matter half solved.

2.  My second strengths is the ability to use my own initiative to take on challenges. I am always proactive at what i do and that keeps my mind simulated and focused.

My two areas for improvement:
1. Talking in front of crowds

My short term plan is to practice speaking in front of people I am comfortable with as in my family.
Long term plan is to attend  oral presentations classes.

2. Cooking
My short term plan is to teach myself
My long term plan is to attend cooking classes.

Insights about my performance:
If I continue to follow my plan I will get better in my areas for improvement.
